- Cut your toenails straight across, not too short respecting the white nail rims.
- Wash your feet immediately after practicing sports, preferably without any soap.
- Fungal infections are contagious. After practicing sports, take a shower wearing bath slippers and dry your feet thoroughly, especially between the toes.
- Wear socks made out of natural, seamless and moisture absorbent materials.
- Wear shoes with enough room in the toe box in width and height to prevent ingrown toenails.
- Prevent soft skin and leave your trainers or sneakers to rest for at least 24 hours after practicing sports, allowing moisture to evaporate.
- Use foot creme for your feet -it keeps the skin smooth.
- Shoes should fit properly and preferably are made out of genuine leather. This reduces the chances of callus and fungal infections.
